Glaciers are the best witnesses of climate change.

With a temperature increase of about 3 degrees in the last 150 years the Forni Glacier in the Stelvio Park has reduced in length by more than 2 km.

Today Milan has the same average annual temperature of Rome 200 years ago.

We’ve moved half of Italy from a point of view of thermometric measure.

There is life on glaciers.

The new study methods allow us to discover and describe in detail diversity of microorganisms that were previously unknown.

We discovered DDT (insecticide) of the 1970s, a new generation of pollutants and recently traces of microplastics in the glacier.
